Treloar’s is looking for a new Chair of Trustees

Help shape the future for physically disabled children and young people 

Treloar’s is one of the UK’s leading providers for physically disabled children and young people, many of whom have complex needs. We provide outstanding teaching, learning, professional care, therapy, and guidance so every individual can live, learn, achieve and work towards a future that is independent and fulfilling as possible.

Our holistic, multi-disciplinary approach brings together education, residential and pastoral care, therapy, and medical support — and we are seeking new Chair of Trustees who shares our passion, values, and commitment to excellence.

The Opportunity

As a Trustee and Chair of the Board, you’ll help guide a truly extraordinary organisation. Working with our dedicated leadership team, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership, establishing the Trust’s vision, values, and objectives
• Ensure effective governance and compliance with legal, regulatory, and best practice standards
• Oversee financial performance, including budgets, major decisions, and annual reports
• Support and appraise the Chief Executive through strong, accountable leadership
• Monitor performance and uphold high standards across the Trust, its School, and College

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome leaders from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with lived experience of disability. 

We would especially value applicants with a passion and commitment to improving opportunities for disabled young people.

Commitment

• Trustees serve a three-year term (extended up to a maximum of three terms)
• Around seven meetings per year (Board and sub-committees) held during the day
• Undertake some training, including safeguarding, and to engage with students, staff, and events is encouraged
