Domestic Independence Technician

Part time, 25 – 33 hours per week, Term time only

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join Treloar School and College as a Domestic Independence Technician/Lead SSA. You will play a key role in supporting students to develop essential life and independence skills within domestic settings.

You will work across both school and college, supporting teachers and tutors with learning activities, maintaining a safe and well-organised Domestic Independence Room, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control, and resource management.

This role involves covering and leading lessons for the tutor, preparing and organising equipment and materials in the classroom as well as providing support to the students in all aspects of their learning.

The successful candidate will:

  •      have excellent communication skills
  •      have the ability to support students across a range of ability levels
  •      committed to ensuring students reach their full potential
  •      innovative and creative with ability to think outside the box
  •      be qualified to GCSE level C or above (or equivalent) in Maths & English
  •      hold a relevant level 3 qualification in care and/ or education and be committed to achieving a level 4 teaching and learning qualification. You may already hold this qualification as well.

Salary:  £26,096 per annum (pro rata to 42 for part time)

Once achieved level 4 Teaching & Learning qualification: £27,276 (pro rata to 42 for part time)
